My husband successfully received PPI back for an old loan and the company recommended using Cheval for a plevin claim. He thought he would give it a try and signed the paperwork and left it. He has since received an email from them to tell him they have been successful and that he has received a sum of £1550. He then got a separate letter asking for his details for the payment which is £60! They have listed loads of different non specific fees and taken over 95% of the amount! Surely this cannot be legal?!

Did he default on the payment or get into arrears? Lenders never recommend a claims company. However, some debt management firms do use them.

So, whilst the figure may have been £1550, after the debt is paid and the CMC, then he gets what is leftover.
