Does anyone have any info on when the US is likely to open up to double vaccinated Brits?

The US doesn't currently recognise the Astra Zeneca vaccine. Something of a stumbling block. That's insular protectionist thinking for you.

    &*%£*!

So does that mean I couldn't go even if they did open up? Or could I take a test?

It's just one of the issues that needs ironing out. That's arisen in the course of UK and US discussions.

Delta must be the concern currently for the US. The UK appears to be viewed as a petri dish at the moment. As other countries watch on to see if high vaccination rates do indeed create herd immunity.

As in someone who works for the CDC, State Department or such who's willing to break their confidentiality clauses to answer strangers questions on a public forum?

Only last month the US embassy in London cancelled all visa appoints up to the end of September and advised them to rebook after March 2022.

Anecdotal evidence only but does suggest the answer is "not soon". Also remember the block is not on "Brits", vaccinated or not, but on people who have been to the UK in the last 14 days. People with a British passport are still entitled to enter the USA via a third country

Well if there was such a person willing to post such information 😉

I was just wondering if there had been any rumours about a possible announcement date.

Whilst it is potentially feasible to spend 14 days in a 3rd country beforehand I think the kennel fees may make that economically unfeasible.

oh well that looks like another flight cancellation 😌

I have to say that I'm yet to find a good source of rules for non-citizens entering the USA. The State Department website is very clear on certain counties (eg the UK) but silent on many other counties... now maybe silence means not an issue but it'd be better to have definitive advice.

No one knows yet and anyone posting on here is going to be speculating.

Ironically their Johnson-Johnson vaccine is almost exact of the AZ vaccine. What is your reason for travel? Purely tourist related?
