Mercedes emissions claim

Hi all, 

Well this form has grown in size since my last visit. With so many sections I have no idea which one to choose. Definitely need to put a search function on that index...

Opted to post here but no doubt in the wrong place!

Have any of you you claimed in regards to the Mercedes emissions?

I have, via HAUSFELD 'Mercedes Emissions Claim'. .co.uk

However, they appear to have gone quiet late. No one answering the telephones and no response to my last email.

Has anyone else tried to contact them? Was it a scam have they pocketed my claim money...

Hausfeld have not launched any claim in the UK courts against Mercedes. Nobody has.

In the unlikely event anybody does, it is more likely to be the more established ambulance chasers claims firms, Slater and Gordon or Leigh Day.

No credible claimant would ask for money up front. In fact, most of the sales pitches centre on how the claim won't cost you a penny... Hausfeld's own website FAQ says they do not ask for money.

3. WHAT WILL IT COST ME TO BE PART OF THE CLAIM?

It will cost you nothing to join the claim.  If you lose your claim, you will not have to pay our legal fees.   

If you win your claim, you will keep approximately 60% of your compensation. Approximately 40% of your compensation will go towards paying the costs of bringing your claim.

Yes, very likely. It’s quite a good one, as no-one with much nous would sign up for this in the first place.

You’ve a very good chance of getting it back though, you just need to use a good lawyer to act for you. I’m happy to pass your query on if you like, to my friend’s company. They claim very high success rates. You do need to pay them a £1,000 surety upfront but that’s recoverable when the claim is settled.

Mercedes got a free pass from the EU for dobbing everyone in.  Meanwhile BMW and VW have been fined $1bn, you guys trying to claim won't be seeing any of it though because you can't prove any loss.

Firstly, they wont see any of the fines because the UK is not in the EU... state fines are not there to create a fund for claimants but enter the general state coffers and get used on public services etc. Private claims are made against the companies on top of the state fines.
