I need some help as i've never been in a situation like this before!
Bought a vac on the installment plan however the last payment failed as the card details were wrong.
First thing i knew about this was when i got an email saying payment had failed 3 times and they have now sent it to a debt collection agency!
I call them and they explained dont worry its our system its not been sent over to debt collectors we will get the accounts team to call you and sort it.
No phone call after couple of days and same person explains the same
I phone again couple days later and she changes the payment date to mid august which actually enabled me to pay the remaining balance online.
However this morning i wake up to an email from the debt collection agency saying to contact them with a reference etc.
I have since phoned shark again and explained and again waiting for their accounts to call me back as apparently they cant transfer me!
I dont know what to do. do i wait to hear from shark. Do i call the debt company and say i've paid it directly to shark?

Firstly don't panic. Nothing terrible is gong to happen.
I would wait until you hear from Shark and take it from there. If you go down to the woods today you better not go alone.0 -

I'm fuming as we are in the middle of buying a house and they promised it wasn't going to go to the debt collectors.0 -
Yes they can cancel,
Things happening like this, probably mean they automatically send to a debt collector and getting to a human being who can sort it out can be difficult especially as there are chances people are working from home still.
It isn't going to effect your house purchase. If you go down to the woods today you better not go alone.1 -

So it wont affect my credit score?
I have no idea how these things work!0 -
If Shark do call the debt collection off there will be no record anywhere, also your credit score really means nothing in the big scheme of things. If you go down to the woods today you better not go alone.0

Shark are an online entity, who are involved in the fast paced world of selling cleaning products.
They sell these at a reduced price, as they don`t have the overheads associated with shops to pay out.
This also means that there slick operation has no time to chase up bad debts or failed payments, so they outsource that to a debt collection company, it usually happens automatically, so don`t feel too bad about it.
All the DCA does is ask you to pay the money on behalf of the client, they do not own the debt, so cannot take you to court, and cannot put information on your credit file either, basically, they can do nothing but write to you, and call you.
Once the message filters down through sharks inner workings, that the debt has been paid, the DCA will be called off, and that will be the end of the matter.
Should you continue to receive contact from them, a sternly worded letter or email to both the client, and the DCA should alert them (yet again) to there error.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
