Hi everyone,
We are in the process of deciding what to do about our brown dated double glazing and are keen to update. On the back of the house the double glazing is white on the inside and brown on the outside. Is the brown a kind of skin and is there anyway we could remove it without having to pay for replacement windows?
Many thanks,
Little miss

Hi LM.Most likely this is a 'foil' which is not designed to be removable, or else the elements would have done so by now. Does it have a woodgrain texture? It can, tho', be painted, and this should follow the correct process - a good scouring to make it 100% clean and idealy very lightly 'keyed', followed by the application of a proper PVC primer - Sandtex make one, as do others. You then apply the exterior paint of your choice. It can look perfectly good.If you'd like to post a photo of your house with these broon windows, perhaps some on here could suggest suitable colours? How about anthracite? Sage green? No? Ok, then - white...0
