Tesco pump printed off someone else receipt

I put £25 of petrol at Tesco pump this afternoon using my amex card. Never gave it another thought, printed receipt and put in my purse. Emptied my purse and found a receipt for £65.79 for diesel using an MasterCard. Is this common. Panicked at first when I saw £65, then even more when it said diesel but then I saw it wasn't my card. Strange

Sometimes the previous receipt that's not collected get jammed inside the little flap - when yours comes out - it pushes the previous one out, and yours becomes the new one jammed in the little flap (depending on design) - I've sometimes had someone else's receipt - but the amount charged has always been correct.3

This happened to me two weeks ago at Tesco. There was no receipt showing before I pressed the button to request it. A quick glance and it was obviously not mine, then after a few seconds my receipt appeared.1 -
If another pump is out of paper they can release it at your pump. Probably that0

Check the card number on the receipt... Will only be the last 4 against your....
Heard a lot of people ring their bank with these... Only to find the answer is as above. You got someone else's receipt..Life in the slow lane0 -
If you are worried, why not log onto your Amex account to check recent transactions?
I would have thought it should show up within 24 hours.“Like a bunch of cod fishermen after all the cod’s been overfished, they don’t catch a lot of cod, but they keep on fishing in the same waters. That’s what’s happened to all these value investors. Maybe they should move to where the fish are.” Charlie Munger, vice chairman, Berkshire Hathaway0 -
I had this and needed the receipt to claim back for work. I put £40 worth of fuel in but the receipt given wasnt mine and was for £85. I tried explaining to work but they didnt believe me and paid me the £85. What a bummer, I felt so bad about it1
