Outbuilding and Retaining wall insurance

Our home has a detached garage and retaining wall. When renewing insurance realised all companies we looked at had a clause in the policy that said outbuildings were only covered for ground movement IF the main house was also affected. Aa these structures are well detached from our house I want to buy top up.cover for these specifically to cover the gap in cover but cant find anyone who does this. Any ideas? We are happy with who provides our main buildings cover so dont want to move but they dobr di any top up insurance at all. Help very lucha appreciated

I think I would go to a broker, explain the cover you need and get some quotes. Price comparison sites like Gocompare will sell straightforward off the shelf policies with catch-all exclusions if this is where you are looking.0

Yes, I noticed the same thing on my recent policy renewal, but was unable to find one which did. Many of the cheaper policies don't include contents cover for contents in a detached garage either, so you may wish to worry about that too. I agree with MartinDow that an old-fashioned style broker is the way to go on both points and that you are unlikely to get more than the basic level of cover from policies available on comparison sites.0
