Question about Contact trace phone call.

I came recently from an amber country. This is my second day of quarantine already I received 2 phone calls from NHS contact trace folks. I am wondering if these phone calls are really checking and taking note of everything I’m saying or just a guy in the other end reading a script.

I have heard of people receiving knocks on the door to check they are home too. All seems fair enough to me.Its good to hear that people are being contacted to make sure they are being responsible.

Day 5 of returning from Amber country.  Had 4 calls already.  I asked yesterday what was the objective of the call.  Their response was 1. To check you were complying with and understand rules and 2. to check on my welfare and health.  Definitely reading off a script as on day 4 they were asking about my day 2 test.  They have asked exactly the same questions each day.  One Rep said they should ring days 1, 2, and 8 whilst another said they ring every day.  Just had my day 5 Test To Release which they knew about so will wait to see if they still ring each day.

Agree its not very well implemented and  the calls are scripted. I had someone knocking at the door from "track and trace" who was actually a security guard from Mite working for the Home Office. Somehow, I doubt such people care too much about our health.

When I arrived from an amber country I had calls every day. One day I had two calls.

They call to check you're still home and that you understand the rules. For instance, we did test to release. They had to call so that we understood that we could only leave after receiving our Day 5 negative results, not on Day 5.

Why would they not read from a script. They have been recruited to a job. They do not have a  medical background or know all the ins and outs.

Good that they’re doing it, because without it self-entitled single-digit IQ folk would just do what they want and ignore the rules. 

Pity it takes such action to actually make people consider others though, and it’s a pain for those who are isolating correctly
