Ebico? Any recent switchers ?

My Zog tariff is unfortunately ending with Neo looking annually cheaper by £50 and Ebico cheaper by £25. Neo have nothing but terrible reviews. I've been with Ebico in the past without a problem but understand things have changed in recent years. Are they now good and are there any referrals available?
I've tried an mse search for Ebico but got 10+ pages with many dated over a decade ago. Pointless, why aren't search results shown with the most recent first as its likely to be the most relevant?

Hi. Are you meaning Neon Reef when you say Neo? I done a quote with Switch with Which and this was for gas only and the new Ebico was cheapest but when I tried to sign up the website was wanting duel fuel. I emailed them to ask why and they never replied to me. Hopeless company.0

Hi. Thanks for explaining, I don't know these. My experiance of EBICO is rubbish. I will quote my email to them to living@ebico.org.uk, they don't reply so they don't get a brown penny off me.0

Hello. My gas tariff is coming to an end in June with EDF.I ran a quote on "switch with which" and it said Ebico Living was cheapest for me.When I went over to your website, it's wanting to switch both supplies and I don't want to move electricity.Do you accept duel fuel only? Many thanks0

Was with Ebico since 1912 Gas & 1917 Gas + Elec.
Absolutely no problems at all until British gas took over last year.
I will be going back to Ebico Living when current BG tariff finishes at the end of this month.
Will miss the zero standing charge (I'm a low energy consumer) but I've no idea if they'll be able to offer the same excellent customer service I experienced when they partnered with Robin Hood, but Octopus seems like a decent bet, (much better than their original partner SSE).
Ebico co-founding partner, Phil Levermore is still CEO of the new Ebico Living, which is promising, and I don't expect Octopus to play funny games with them, but they'll be starting from a low customer base and without any apparent advantages over going directly to Octopus Energy.
Ebico used to have a free telephone helpline, but now seems to have changed to an 03 number. If they offer a real email contact address that works like before that will be enough for me.

The site search isn't even worth trying now. Best to use google with time constraints. E.g. hits for Ebico over the past year:Norman_Castle said:I've tried an mse search for Ebico but got 10+ pages with many dated over a decade ago. Ebico is now basically a repackaged octopus energy. They don't do single fuel gas. You can only get it as single electric or duel fuel.SPOWER said:Hello. My gas tariff is coming to an end in June with EDF.I ran a quote on "switch with which" and it said Ebico Living was cheapest for me.When I went over to your website, it's wanting to switch both supplies and I don't want to move electricity.Do you accept duel fuel only? Many thanks
Did you try calling? They would have picked up fast and answered your question. Octopus has a habit of losing people's emails......its their biggest weakness. If you call them they will see your email on their system, but for some reason you'll never get a reply till you've told them this!0 -
Great, as you say, only dual fuel if you want gas from them. Not sure why the comparison site failed to point that out.niktheguru said:

Didn't realise they'd been around so long.

Hahaha... well spotted.
Does 2012+2017 sound more reasonable?
(Yeah, I'm getting a bit long in the tooth. I was born in the 1850s, and should check myself a bit better. But what's a century here or there to an oldie like me.)
Thanks.
Good luck with your choices Mr Castle.
