Buying a home

We are first time buyers , have a 7 year old and I’m also due in 3 weeks time with baby number 2 . While on holiday we had an email saying he is upping the rent by £70  a month then three days later  emailed us and sent a letter given 3 months notice to leave as he wants to sell . The landlord wants to sell  we gave two offers to him to buy the home we’re renting which were refused  so the landlord/seller came back and gave us a counter offer which we accepted . All we were waiting on , were the contracts to be signed,  then had a phone call from the estate agents saying the landlord/ seller wants an extra £10000 other wise he is not selling .
I rang him to ask about the notice period he gave which because we were buying the home we are renting from him we were not looking else where  so that’s now wasted nearly 2 months , he said the notice still stands and not adding any extra time . What would you do ??
Our broker is seeing if the bank can lend anymore  or adjust things but now we are stuck .
