Help please re refund for tickets bought

Looking for some advice please. I am trying to get a refund for some concert tickets I purchased in May 2019. The event has been postponed due to Covid and rescheduled. We are unable to make the new date so I contacted the company asking for a refund as I bought ticket protection. They have said I could have a refund but they are unable to refund me as the credit card I used to purchase the tickets has expired and I have to call them with new card details.
I have tried to call them on several occasions and after 2 hours on hold hang up as I have up. They are refusing to deal with my refund by messages and email and say I have to call but I cannot get through.
I spoke to my bank who said it is not correct that they cannot refund an expired card as they can and the refund would be transferred onto the new card.
I don’t think I will be able to ask my bank to claim the money back as it was so long ago and on the website it says they can look at doing a charge back within 120 days.
Any ideas how I can get this refund sorted thank you.
Thanks 😊

In theory it is possible, but most merchant services will only allow a refund to be processed to an expired card for a few months after the transaction. Many will also not allow them to refund the old transaction years after the original, they will require card data to be reentered into the system as well and as your payment was more than two years ago I can also see that being the case.bluehorse230903 said:Looking for some advice please. Your bank will not process a Chargeback firstly as you correctly state because of time and secondly because the supplier has offered you a refund.
What you need to do is persevere, try calling at different times when they might be more likely to answer the phone, hopefully as more people go back to their office things might improve.0 -
try calling as soon as lines open rather than during the day when everybody else is also calling.0
