Just getting around to sort out this year's insurance and was wondering what would be the correct job description title on the insurance forms.

I buy mostly used musical instruments / cameras restore / service them and sell them online through ebay or my website.

The closest I can find is salesman / retailing -  could I put down restorer / retailing as it's  10% less if I do.

Do you restore and retail? Yes, you do. Seems a fair description.

"Salesman" would imply repping up and down the motorway, hence the increased risk.

Make sure you have adequate cover for goods in transit.

Job descriptions are very hand-wavy. As long as you could justify whatever you picked if asked (I've never been asked to) then you're right to pick pretty much anything. If you own your own business then even better as you can give yourself whatever job title you want so you'd have documentation to back it up ;)

That sounds much closer to what you do anyway. Sales could involve never even seeing the things you're selling!

Best bet is to call them and check it fits the policy, it’s a unique kind of occupation! They’ll ask if you’re self employed, tax registered, of you’re doing any form of travelling for your job etc!
