How long for a pip decision

Hi everyone

I just wondered if anyone knows the wait times for a pip decision

I helped my mum submit the form in March and we still have not had a decision. We have rung them a couple of times for an update and to ask if they need anything else but we are just told it is being processed.

It just seems a very long time to not hear anything

There are very long delays for assessments to take place at the moment. Many have been waiting six months.
Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.

DWP are estimating a 10 average claim time. Although there’s actually no time scales because some wait just a few months, while others wait a lot longer.
I had my review form a few months ago and returned it in mid June. I was expecting a long wait but to my surprise a decision letter came last Friday and my award stayed the same (paper based assessment)
  • It is taking longer than usual. My friends form went in early february, she still hasnt had an assessment yet.

Thank you all I was just worried as she becomes a pensioner in 6 weeks so I didn’t want them to then say claim attendance allowance as we made the claim initially when she was working age.

That won’t happen because the claim was made when she was below state pension age. If awarded the PIP will continue for as long as you remain entitled to it.
If a decision doesn’t go in her favour or you’re not happy with the award then request the MR followed by Tribunal if needed.
