White Meter Heating

I moved into a rented 1 bed flat 4.5 years ago which has White Meter Heating Comfort Plus.  After about a year I realised I have no idea how this system worked as my electic bills where sky rocketing from £62 a month to £140 a month.  I have been trying to get Scottish Power to explain my bills and why the useage was so high for a 1 bed flat therefore generating large bills.  Last September after paying £120 DD a month they said I was in debit £1280, which I queried but yet again was told that the meter readings I was supplying was correct to be billed that amount.  I paid the Debit and my monthly DD was set at £62pm from October 2020.  June 2021 I was told I was in Debit of £900 even then I was providing regular meter readings and in April 2021 I was in credit and SP wanted to reduce my DD to £45 pm which I did not do.  I just can't understand when 2 months later I would then be in debit of £900.  I have had numerous lengthy phone calls (mostly hanging on the line listening to their phone music) and no one could explain the system to me.  When I got the large debit in September 2020 my landlord arranged for an electrician to come out to the property to check the system.  He told us that we have 3 meters, 2 that I need to provide meter readings to SP and another meter that is controlled my radio frequency signals by SP that are used to boost the system even though I don't need it boosted. 

He said he was contacting SP to arrange a SP engineer to meet him at the flat to arrange changing the system to a more economical one on a Single Use system which would mean SP could then provide me with a Smart Meter.  I am still waiting for this to happen.  I contacted SP again June 2021 after receiving the debit of £900 to be told an engineer would contact me within 5 working days to arrange a visit but this never happened.  I phoned SP again end of June to query why I never received a call from an engineer and was told as I have contacted the Ombudsman about my ongoing issues with this that they could therefore not help me until my complaint was complete.  She did however go on to tell me that the 3rd locked meter is actually controlled by radio frequency generated from my nearest airport (Edinburgh) which I do not understand.
The ombudsman can not help unless I provide prove of all my complaints etc with SP which I do not have as it's all been conversations over the phone.

I am at a complete loss as to what to do now as SP are asking me to pay £185 pm and I do not understand how they justify my useage for a 1 bed flat. HELP

    Could you repost under ENERGY please (directly under Energy not LPG etc - it's a badly designed bit of the forum). Lots of people there with experience of these types of tariffs.

    Forget £'s.  When you do repost please can you give energy consumptions in kWh  - an actual consumption for a 12 month period. Do you read your meter at least every month - if not SP will be guessing and (perhaps) over estimating.?
      A copy of your bill with all the personal info of name/address , a/s number and MPAN box blanked out will help a lot.
    Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill
