Double Glazing Quote

Options
Hello,

I have had a quote of £3,890 inc VAT for the following;

Five new windows (appreciate you don’t know the sizes but no bay windows etc)

Two new double glazed doors.

Price includes disposal.

Thanks

Cameron

Whereabouts in the country are you?

It sounds like a reasonable price to me here in Bristol.

I'm assuming that it's a local firm that's quoted as the likes of Anglian, Safestyle etc would probably quote 5 times that (before getting their manager to give you a special "today only" price of 50% off).

Well, don't I feel cheated! Safestyle only offered me 40% off and that was a week after their rep had been to see us! We didn't use them, we found a local company who were less than half of the discounted Safestyle price.

decent enough based without knowing sizes or styles but a few big and small ones based on about 400 each and upvc doors at 900 that's your money . If theyre comp doors you've done well .

    I think that's really good
  • Thanks for the reply all. The quote is for my holiday home which is in Wales.

I decided to change the front door from UPVC to a composite door and the quote has come back as £3,904 inc VAT.

It would appear the original tradesmen who recommend this glazer to me had added his cut to the original quote so the original quote should have only been £3,500 inc vat.

While I’m over the moon with the price now, I feel annoyed with the original tradesmen trying to make a quick buck out of me for simply passing the work on to his mate.

Unfortunately for him, I will now be giving his portion of the home improvements to someone else.

Rant over, but I wish people were genuine.

What is the holiday home made from ? His mate should have quoted it and got him a drink from it . Not the other way around . If its north of borth ( I like that) send me a message with door options and I will quote it up. If its timber allow for expansion . If its metal like a static its probably fully expanded in this weather . There can be a difference of over 10mm on sizes in expansion . I cover all LL & CH postcodes
