I went on a short holiday recently. The accommodation was completely different to what was described on the website. Some things (a hot tub, telescope) were not there at all. It was nothing like the description at all and none of the facilities ( restaurant, bar, room service etc) were available. They were also building a bathroom block ( it was glamping) very close to where we were and the noise was constant.
We ( and other people too) complained to the owner. He agreed in writing to provide a 50% refund.
This was 10 days ago and I have no refund and the owner is ignoring my emails and messages.
I am thinking of starting a chargeback but don't know if this is the correct way to go about things. I didn't take any photos during the stay as the owner had agreed to refund- stupid I know.
The owner has also updated his t and c 's which now say there will be no refund if the accomodation turns out to be different than as described or any of the advertised facilities are not available or if there is noise from building work.

Ask the bank to do a S75 - usually they will start with a chargeback anyway but owner can dispute the chargeback while the S75 the bank pays you - your evidence of photos etc and the owner offering a refund but not paying will help0

Talk to your bank. They will tell you the procedure & what information will be required.loveka said:I went on a short holiday recently. Neither are the "we accept no liability for xyz on this site" notices you see / sign all over the place. You legally cannot sign away your right to a negligence claim on the part of the company where they were at fault, doesn't stop every company using them and hoping people don't ask questionsMistral001 said:loveka said:
