You can order from ao.com and other online companies however they won't fit electric or gas ovens.

They have done so for me. Has that changed recently? Or, maybe it depends where you are in the country?

Their delivery-only service is a lot faster than delivery+fitting, though.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

AO are still offering installation. They don't have anything on their installation page which suggests otherwise

AO offered me installation just last week , for an integrated electric oven, so they definitely do it. I rejected their offer as it was £99! ... but if I were a landlord, I think that would be a price worth paying - cheap & cheerful oven with installation within a week without me even needing to visit the property. + they remove old oven for free if you buy their installation.

As others have said, it isn't clear why you would have had to throw away food. You might have needed to rethink your meal planning ( for instance, if you were planning a road dinner then you might have needed to cut up the meat and cook it in a different way) but I'm struggling to think of anything that would need to be thrown out, other than  oven-ready frozen meals which you could simply leave in the freezer an extra could of weeks.

1-2 weeks to supply and fit a new oven doesn't seem unreasonable.
All posts are my personal opinion, not formal advice Always get proper, professional advice (particularly about anything legal!)

Did you get a leadtime for that install?

Even if it was within a week or two, it may well vary by area. For all we know, the week or two the OP gives IS the AO supply-and-fit time. It's certainly what I'd be looking at for a tenant.

When our oven broke last year in the property we rented, it took about 3 weeks for the new one to be installed. It wasn't great, but didn't have to throw away food. Even food that goes in the oven, can always be cooked on the hob anyway, even the "oven ready" meals, I always pop them in the pan with a lid and leave them there with low heat, it's quicker than warming them up in the oven.
When the washing machine broke, we had to wait a month for the new one to be installed, and in the meantime we had to go to a launderette and pay for using the machines there. It was just a few pounds, and to be honest we didn't even think about claiming that money back. Stuff happens, and I'd rather have a friendly relationship with the landlord, instead of immediately thinking about claiming money back. I found that being friendly and accommodating usually pays back, because the landlord becomes the same towards you.

Our oven has broken and our landlord/Agency is happy to replace it but it’ll take 1-2 weeks before it gets replaced. This has resulted in us throwing away a lot of food and purchasing more for other cooking ways I.e microwave.
can we claim a rent reduction or something similar?
One wee's worth of oven food is about £20? (As of course you won't need two weeks worth of fresh food replacing as you wont have bought it yet).

How would you feel about this as a landlord?
