I have just had an email from E-On saying my accounts are being switched to monthly bills with E-On Next (who ever they are) - it always has been 3 monthly.

I phoned to complain, requesting I stay on 3 monthly, but they say they can not stop the switch.

This seems a blatant way to get payment sooner than they do at present.

As I am on paperless I am supposed to get the bills by email but rarely do so I will now be constantly getting bills from them.

Why go monthly?  - This is surely not the way most people pay bills even BT is 3 monthly?

In reality, the vast majority of people pay monthly.  So, its more likely they are removing unprofitable methods.  Plus, with quarterly, any arrears could well be bigger before they are found.

Its been a few years since i was with Eon but it was monthly then and got one email a month.

BT has been monthly for most people for many many years.

I do not have any arrears.

I have been 3 monthly since I went with e-on for over 20 years and who ever they were before and till they try to change it i still am.

I have and still have bills every 3 months from BT and again do not have any arrears

I very often do not get emails from e-on

You may not but plenty do build some.

E-on are rarely best value.   They sometimes put in a special deal that but more often than not, you can get a fair bit better.  Have you considered shopping around?

It's difficult to get into arrears with BT due to the more consistent level the bill remains at.

@aardvaak If you really want credit and are prepared to pay for it look for those suppliers who bill 6 monthly  --  SSE and Edf  ( I've just been switched to Edf following GNE's demise and GNE billed monthly. It's a good job I read my meter monthly and keep my own records so I know what I will owe)
Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill
