help with currys customer service process

Hoping someone out there can assist in a  way to proceed with augmenting a solution as I've hit a brick wall !!!
Synopsis  Bought dishwasher in april n paid to have old one taken away and new one installed
over six weeks later  realised water seeping up through grouting of ceramic tiles in front of sink!!
Unsure what was causing I turned off water and  rang british gas{insurance for a year}to come n check for blockages
removed plinths around kitchen which were sodden n water and saw water accumulated behind edge of tiles which acted as a buffer completely under sink area
After projected runaround with currys phone system  booked an engineer who immediately saw it was incorrectly fitted and leaking and outlet pipe also crunched up against leg of unit
Response eventually from currys is , not accepting liability!! ,i had to source two written quotes from tradesman in order to assess what needed repairing or evidence of need to replace..
This under current frenzy of building work is proving impossible!!!
I tried  check a trade,/ builders.com /rated people  even asked companies working on jobs in my cul de sac!!
on sending an email with estimate for cost of tiles in kitchen which are no longer  available ,had a lengthy conversation virtually asking me to assess damage and if no estimates can be gained was told an amount of £150 is all they could offer  I spent £90 on installation!! and maybe try my home insurance   At which point instead of swearing i ended the call
Any suggestions on how to proceed with currys would be most appreciated

fairly simple - you need to find out what it will cost to repair the damage and ask currys to pay. If they refuse take them to small claims court.

totally separate to that is the actual booking of the tradesman etc because, as you say, they are busy.
  • Thank you
that is my dilemma  no tradespeople willing to come and quote for what they see as a small job!! Could be stuck like this no a while longer  at this rate but will persue Currys fir their liability for sure

What damage has actually arisen?  Plinth boards are relatively cheap and can easily be cut to length, I suspect that might be covered by the £150.  What are the tiles made from?  If they're ceramic, just let them dry out.  They won't need replacing.

I'm not saying Currys shouldn't see you right, but it's possible that there really isn't that much to put right, and that the £150 offered is reasonable.

If you paid, as you said you did, for installation of this dishwasher, then Curry's have failed in their customer service.

They obviously did it wrong and they need to put it right, at no cost to you.

Don't try to get this fixed yourself because this is Curry's responsibility.

Thanks Aylesbury  Duck Some of the tiles feel loose because of damage to grouting  but until assessed properly don't know how many!!!       I appreciate the cost of materials may not be large but I can't do the work myself so that will hike it up over 150 I would imagine and there's also all the disruption n the fact I'm not convinced the dishwasher is fit for purpose as its outlet pipes were scrunched against the worksurface legs  As well as getting a different company to refit for which i expect to be re imbursed
I will keep posting the job on different sites until I can forward Currys them
