Tax Credit Overpayment

Evening All,
If you get a tax credit overpayment when do they ask for the money back?
I had a pay rise in January which took us over the threshold, I let them know straight away but obviously the overpayment had already happened due to the nature of the system. No longer entitled so they can't deduct from future payments. Had the amended award saying we now owe money and they'll be asking for it back. Is that award them asking for it back as it gives no details how to pay? Or do you get a separate notification, possibly after the end of July when the final deadline to renew passes?
Don't want to sit idly by if I should be doing something!
Thank you.

Ring HMRC to arrange to repay it back in instalments.1

I did try calling in my break, but was on hold, then got cut off! Tried to look online and nothing on my account about paying back, they don't make it easy!poppy12345 said:Ring HMRC to arrange to repay it back in instalments.0 -
There’s an online chat available for HMRC but there maybe queues for that too. Other than that all you can do is keep trying.0

I wondered the same as I am in the same position. I rang them and spoke to confirm my estimated figures and whilst on the line asked about this and he said I would get a letter August/September time telling me how to pay. So I presume I just wait for that. I asked him twice on the call 'so I don't have to do anything yet just wait' and he said yes. So at the moment Im just waiting for the letter but does make you feel like you should be doing something how it is worded.confused.com2 said:Evening All,

I got through on phone lines most times when rang soon as opened if you are wanting to try to get through and confirm that for yourself too.

Thank you for this, puts my mind at ease somewhat. I did assume it'd be something official come through from HMRC after the July deadline but wasn't 100% sure!GeekieGirlie said:
