Hi, To whom it may concern,
I know a lot of people are wanting to know what they are going to be charged when and if they employ a lawyer to represent them when they go for the Emissions Claims for their car. I have researched for the two cars I am able to claim for and will tell you about those. I had a Mercedes C220 CDi Sport in the time frame that is required for this claim and I ended up signing up with a firm called 'Versus Law ' who are based in Manchester. Their rates are 30% including VAT, most other firms are charging a lot more.
I own at the minute a Ford B Max and ended up going with a firm called 'Harcus Parker' who are based in London. Their rates are 35% including VAT, once again this can be a lot more elsewhere. Remember Vat is important and can be charged at 25% so make sure it is included. Lastly include legal cover on your home, car or credit card you may be able to recover these charges by way of this insurance add on.

You do realise that there aren't multiple legal firms actually launching cases against each manufacturer? Only one will do it - because it will be a BIG expensive case.tweetiepie147 said:

And, as yet, no lawyer at all has lodged any case against any company but VW. And the doors to that one closed years ago.
All these ambulance-chasers are doing is waving speculative nonsense about.
What were your losses?6 -
Also remember that is just the success fee, disbursements can be added on top of that.0

Gold at the end of the rainbow, they haven't a clue what they are claiming for, but some bloke on the telly/press/internet is telling them all there is free money out there if you jump on the bandwagon. This can only end in tears.Manxman_in_exile said:What are you claiming for?2 -
Probably tears of joy for the lawyersHunyani_Flight_825 said:

You are upset that your car was better to drive, more responsive, and cheaper to run than if they didn’t have the test mode “cheat”?
Each to their own of course, but what loss are you intending to sue for?1 -
You clearly do not know what you’re talking about OP.
VAT is 20%, not 25%.
The percentage they take from your damages recovered isn’t their only claim for costs in that action. They are working on a CFA. Costs are also recoverable on top of what they take from your damages. They are also allowed to seek to recover disbursements as well.0
