Telephone calls from Doctor's Surgery

I always think if it’s important enough they’ll phone back. You’d like to think so, anyway. There’s always that nagging worry that because you missed one phonecall you’re going to be missing out on something vital.
Our surgery only ring if they know you’re expecting a call, like if you’ve filled in an online econsult form.
Otherwise they text.

There's definitely no 'a' in 'definitely'.0 -
All my hospital calls come up as private as well.
Dealing with 5 different depts you don't have a clue which one it is as they sometimes have a habit of not mentioning the dept until questioned.0 -
Just got home and found a missed call on my home phone, checked and call shown as 'Doctors'
Had a letter for a hospital telephone consultation with a consultant last week, the letter stated if our phone has a Call Guardian please make sure it is switched off.0 -
Our surgery is with held too but the other thing is they refuse to leave messages because they say they can’t guarantee who else would have access and therefore someone else could listen. I did mention one time that surely you could just leave a message to say you needed to talk to Mr xyz but they said no. Very annoying.0

My surgery showed the practice number and would leave a message asking X to call the surgery.0

My GP practice does a combination of withheld and caller display calls. Unsure why that is. Can’t remember if this applies to certain GPs.Hospitals are always withheld.
A friend said her hospital consultant rings her on his private mobile phone and always comes up as withheld. You can understand that one0 -
Our hospital shows the same general number for all departments. That number does not accept incoming calls.
The caller usually leaves a message for the person concerned giving a mobile number to call back.0 -

The receptionist answers the phone and would make an appointment time for the GP to call you.
The GP did not call without a previously arranged time.0 -
Since downloading the NHS app (not the white elephant TNT) that on times I have missed a call from GPs - for an abnormal test result, it’s on there along with ideal range for each component measured0
