I've seen some one foot high standard olive trees for 10pounds.
Most have dried out in the pots and dropping their leaves but there are a couple that aare ok.
It would be really silly to buy one wouldn't it?
Just i need some more evergreen in the garden and I'm a little taken with them but something keeps screaming Nooooooo!
What do you think?

Be very careful where you source olive trees from

Xylella fastidiosa - UK Plant Health Information Portal (defra.gov.uk)

It's devastated olive orchards in Europe and has masses of host plants grown in the UK. Needs keeping out.

Thank you Ras. I remember seeing that.
I had decided against anyway as they were £15 and not good enough for that.
Then found that I couldn't delete my post on here if it's the first post.
Worth keeping it though for you reminding me.

Why'd you want to delete it?

Forums are useful not only for the original poster but for someone who comes along next week seeing some olive trees for sale and then read's Ras' warning.

Because it was no longer a question I wanted to ask.
The answer Ras gives was not to be expected.
