Broken car
Hi everyone, I have breakdown cover and I took my car in yesterday for an MOT. I got a phone call from the garage this morning and they told me they're not going to attempt an MOT because the engine sounds like it's going and It could go at any moment. I asked if it would be safe to drive back, which is not far and they said they wouldn't chance it. I called my breakdown company and they told me they won't pick it up because it doesn't have an MOT. I have no idea what to do. Even if it breaks down on the road when driving it home, they won't come and pick it u for me. This car has caused me nothing but trouble since I got it and I'm only halve way through the HP for it.
Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Have they told you what exactly they think is the problem with the engine? If they cannot tell you then take it to a garage where there are mechanics who know something about engines.2

I have to agree with the previous poster - you need to take it to someone who actually knows what they're doing. Bear in mind, even if you did get a recovery truck out, most breakdown companies will just tow you to a garage if it's not something that can be fixed at the roadside. So you're in the same position in that you need a mechanic knows what he's on about. Also, has your old MOT expired? If it hasn't expired then it's still valid - even if the new test hasn't been performed.0

they said it might be the fuel injector. I have a mechanic as a neighbour but I can't get it home for him to look at it. I'll have to get my thinking head on and get rid of the panic. If it's not one thing, it's another.0

Ok we need more information whats the car miles etc... as it may have common problems that we are aware of and maybe able to advise you accordingfor now check the oil level the reason for this is if indeed the injector is faulty maybe more that 1, it could be leaking into the sump with the oil or it could be a faulty fuel pump more diagnostic is needed to determine the cause

Did your car actually breakdown before the car went to the garage for an MOT?0

I have managed to arrange it to be towed home. My neighbour has told me he will have a look at what's going on with it.
unfortunately the MOT did run out, so this is the best thing I can think of doing. It's just really frustrating because it's HP and I'm only half way through paying for it and it's cost me nearly £1000 already and that's just with the work that's needed done on it. I've been sold a right pup with this one.
Thank you so much for your insight and advice.1
