    Ryanair are only enforcing their own terms and conditions to the letter.

    Before doing anything, check if it's cheaper to let the flights go (claiming on insurance if you can) and re-booking with a reputable airline (many are available) for other flights. If you wish to re-book with Ryanair, the booking new tickets option may still work out cheaper as tickets for new bookings are almost always cheaper than changing.
