NEFF Integrated Fridge Freezer

I have a NEFF integrated Fridge/Freezer which is just coming up to 3 years old, so conveniently out of warranty. It has developed a really curious problem this morning for the first time. The Fridge light goes off when you open the door and on when you shut it. I have tried turning it off at the mains and back on again but no different. Help

Interesting fault...In modern fridges it's typically a magnet-operated switch or sensor in the fridge and a magnet in the door. In my Samsung the switch is in the top hinge and I am able to switch the light on/off with a small magnet. Out of curiosity you can try locating your switch and play with it, but even if you do, this hardly can help to repair the fault.1

The switch is very mechanical and operates by the door rubber shutting against it and pushing a slider in, which normally would turn it off as the door closes. It now does the complete opposite and turns it on.0

Sounds like a faulty switch, usually just held in by plastic clips, available on ebay.
