Haven UK stay holiday during covid

2 Posts

Having booked this holiday in 2019 to go 2020 there was no issues with covid at the time. We booked in the assumption that there would be no restrictions in place and the entertainment/swimming/activities wouldn't be limited.
We decided to move the holiday back 12 months from the planned date of 2020 due to the uncertain times of going in and out of lockdown.
Fast forward to today. About 2 weeks before we were due to arrive haven sent out information regarding the booking of the events above.
As a family of 5 we were told on 8 people over the course of our stay would be allowed to the swimming. So we could all then only 3 the next time. As for the activities these were reduced in what was on which is fair enough and accept this. The entertainment was also limited. We were allowed to book 1 morning, 1 afternoon and 1 evening only.
I feel as if I am not getting value for the money I paid. When we rebooked we paid an extra fee because it was being moved to the following year and prices would have increased for this year we were told.
Would there be any case for some compensation from haven on the basis of the information I have shared?

You would need to check the small print but I would be surprised if it doesn't say somewhere that not all attractions / facilities may be available.
You don't say when you are due to go - if it is after 19th July you may find that you are able to do more.
If not, you can of course raise it with them and ask whether they can offer a discount or any other gesture of goodwill
