Triwa watch hands fell off when battery was replaced.

Sounds like a joke!
unfortunately not, my husbands Triwa watch, out of guarantee , only a couple of years old but rarely worn.
noticed when he wore it the other day the battery had stopped, dropped in to a jewellers and tried to get it replaced. Usually this isn’t a big job for most makes.
however there was a slight difficulty into removing the back, we were watching when the jeweller suddenly said the hands have fallen off!
rather baffled by this and contacted Tiwa, as this was out of guarantee, they said there would be a charge but didn’t say how much.
Reading Trust Pilot reviews on this watch found that it seems to be a common fault!
ironically I have a fake Rolex, bought in Turkey for a fiver, 27 years ago and still working.
