Presumably the CEC doesn't show cheaper results from your current supplier because they would prefer you to switch to a different supplier so that they are more likely to get paid commission.
That's why it's better to use the Citizens Advice comparison website.
That cannot be correct as it would be in breach of the independant MSE editorial code so often referred to by MSE employees that states, amongst other matters that "The editorial stance shall remain independent from commercial objectives"

The Citizens Advice site does not suffer in this way as it:
    a) does not allow switching direct via the site for any supplier/tariff, so you always need to go to the suppliers website and fill in all your details again (and hope the same tariff is actually there)
    b) does not offer any cashback for any supplier/tariff due to (a) above.
Unfortunately the MSE CEC has been broken for a long time. It never showed Neon Reef for many months despite claiming to show all providers, and it now promotes Autoswitch and Pick Me A Tariff, both of which are more likely to point you towards the more expensive suppliers that pay them commission.
Perhaps this helps to explain why the MSE Trustpilot rating is 'Poor'.

The MSE Cheap Energy Club comparison page says

Will you only show me deals that make you money?
We will always compare and show you the whole of market, even if it doesn't make us money. But we won't be able to switch you to a provider we don't have a relationship with.

    Their page emphasises this https://help.cheapenergyclub.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000341128-Do-you-include-all-tariffs-on-the-market-

Absolutely loving your conspiracy theories here.

Neon reef appears to only have launched about 12 months ago based on when the NR feedback thread was started.

They are a small supplier, and operate online only. They launched with a single, variable electricity tariff. They still only offer electricty tariffs. As a brand new supplier, they probably opted to be excluded from many PCWs (or avoided giving them information on their tariff) to avoid being swamped by applications for what was even back then a competitive tariff - a tariff they kept for their existing customers already on it until earlier this month.

So whilst they may have been missing from MSE for a short period whilst they were quietly launching, they were certainly included 3 months later as evidenced on this very forum.

In regards MSE, I have already referred you to their own Editorial Code they claim to abide by.
I see no evidence to support the accusation that either their Autoswitch or Pick Me A Tariff operates in breach of that code.

The One Click switch will inform you if there are cheaper options available to you that are not included within the One Click Switch option via MSE.

The Pick Me A tariff is designed to select you a tariff based on the preferences you decide, but based on the whole of market from the start. Being able to switch via MSE is not one of the possible preferences. The closest is possibly choosing a well known supplier as a high preference. However, you could also choose price as your priority, and that would be based on the whole of market.
(other options you can include/rate are customer service, green, fixed rate, no early exit fee.)

As for trustpilot? LOL. Even the first post on the NR thread includes a negative reference about them. But you choose whether you prefer to trust Trust Pilot over MSE. It's a free world, and whilst I wouldn't agree with your preference of TrustPilot, I would certainly uphold your right to hold it (however misguided you would then be)

OK, what about EDF? I'm with them and on their own web page they offer me a choice of five fixed tariffs. I do a comparison with the Cheap Energy Club I'm only offered one option, the Standard Variable. (Strangely EDF don't offer me a Standard Variable if I get a quote from them.)
Using the CAB site I'm offered five tariffs, four of them being the same as EDF direct.
EDF are neither small nor new. I look forward to reading your explanation for this one.

As I said, the CAB site neither allows switching via them nor pays any cashback.
