Best method of getting a Visa to Shanghai?

I did this last year and I was so sick of waiting and having to collect it myself in Manchester.

Is there any easier way of obtaining a visa to Shanghai?

I'm hoping to go in March - Many thanks in advance.

a friend of mine says, make sure that the photo on your passport and the photo on the visa are as the same as possible or they will not allow you in.
She says that when she went, the girl infront of her at immigration was told to go back to Ireland as her photo was different.
the only difference was her hair was shorter in her passport than on her visa picture.

  • That's just plain mad!!!

Someone told me that there's an 'express' way of getting a visa where you pay a company to sort this out and collect the visa for you?

    Does anyone know of this?

I got mine via post within a week. I used Chinese Visa Direct.

http://www.chinesevisadirect.co.uk/pricing.htm (i think this is the same company i used). I think that these days £50 for the normal service is the standard. Though i'd always recommend you look around and see if you can get it cheaper anywhere else.

Just remember that you normally have to travel within 3 months of your visas issue date, so if you get one issued on December 15th 2007, you'd have to go to China before March 16th 2008 etc etc.
