CEL reappeal

Hi all
I'm aware I shouldn't give too much info here so I hope this is enough. I have received via cctv a car ticket, I appealed using the blue text in the newbies section. I have only now realised 2 numbers of the parking location was mixed up when paying for the parking period. Is it just a waste of time going back and forth as it was an error or still contest it via popla?
Could kick myself for such a clumsy error!
Thanks in advance for any advice

If CEL failed to comply with POFA and the driver wasn't revealed , easy win at Popla , for a keeper , due to POFA

Check for POFA compliance , or not
  • Hi thanks for the reply.

The invoice received states 'The notice is issued under schedule 4 of the protection of freedoms act 2012.'

I think they've covered themselves now.

    Much appreciated

But that is not all of POFA, you need to check the PCN against the actual act.  There is a link to POFA from the NEWBIE sticky.

I've just replied to you by pm, pointing out that a keying error with the location code required CEL to either cancel the PCN or offer you settlement at £20.  If they;ve rejected your appeal and said in the rejection that it's because you made a keying error with the location code - yet have NOT offered settlement at £20 or cancelled the PCN (simple keying error) then POPLA like that argument!

Read POPLA DECISIONS from the end, backwards, back a few pages and find the POPLA decisions about PPCs who have failed to settle at £20 for keying error situations.  Location codes are dependent upon keypads so the BPA CoP section on keying errors applies.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thank you coupon mad- truly value your help on this matter.
I didn’t realise it was a keying error when I first sent the appeal, they only pointed this out on the rejection letter. Ok great POPLA will hear of this. It does give me the option to reappeal on their website. I’m not sure if this is them trying to create a trap somehow lol.

yes will get reading now regarding their decisions on such matters.

Thank you all again, will update you of progress

Use POPLA's own words from those two decisions we saw reported in recent months.  Copy what they said and which part of the BPA CoP POPLA quoted, and it makes it harder for POPLA to disagree, IMHO.
