Should we pay for financial advice?

Hi –
OH (38) and I (45) are looking to get our financials in check but unsure whether we should seek out and pay for an IFA or do it ourselves.
We have a joint income of £300K and savings of around £100K. We're married with a 2 year old and have a mortgage on our (only) home.
We'd like advice on the following:
1. How best to use the savings we currently have (overpay mortgage vs. invest etc.)
2. How best to save and / or invest moving forwards.
Our 3–5 year goal is to upsize from our current house and take on a bigger mortgage, so some sensible help and advice around this would be good too.
Will the typical fees of an IFA be worth it for us?
Where is the best place(s) to find an IFA?
Thanks.

You've already had pointers on your other threads (especially starting a pension) but if you're looking for paid advice then https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/savings/best-financial-advisers/ is probably a reasonable place to start....

It's too short a timescale. Will the typical fees of an IFA be worth it for us?Probably zero as effectively the choice would be to either save the money or overpay the mortgage.Where is the best place(s) to find an IFA?Google your local firms.
I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.2 -
