How do I return a faulty item to Amazon after 30 days?

I bought a ceiling fan light in May 2021 through Amazon. It was used a hand full of times and fused when I used the remote to switch it on which has rendered it useless. The 30 day return window closed 2 days before the fault occurred. I cannot see any way of contacting Amazon to return or repair which I find most distressing and infuriating as I cannot exercise my consumer rights. Is there anyone with a solution?

    Have you tried customer service?
    0800 279 7234

Or if that keeps you waiting for too long - I can't post URLs, so we will do it this way:
    go to
    amazon dot co dot uk
and add this to the URL in the address bar:
    /gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=201747400

    Good luck :)

Direct from Amazon or via Marketplace?

If it was a third party, you need to get in touch with them for a remedy.
It'll show you on the product page if it's sold by Amazon or not :)

Product page offerings will change, best to check the actual order.

As above if it was Amazon call or chat with them.

If it was a third party seller and not filled by Amazon send a message and if no joy you typically have 90 days to open an A-Z claim with Amazon for them to adjudicate.

Use the 'contact the seller' option, rather than 'return the item'.  This is not a return in the usual sense of returning an unwanted item within the 30 days window, it's to obtain a refund or replacement of a faulty item.
The 'contact' route should then give you a series of options, one of which will relate to faulty or misdescribed items.
