Best paint for Bathroom ceiling

Morning All,

As per title, what would be the best paint for a bathroom ceiling. Gets quite steamy, especially during the winter months (no extraction fan, I just open the (tiny) window). I have used standard emulsion in the past, but its not the best.

Thoughts?

Many thanks

I tried Dulux bathroom paint in the past and wasn't impressed. Dulux trade vinyl matt emulstion seems to work well in our bathroom at the minute. It's not too shiny and seems to hold up well to steam (we do have an extractor though).
  • Moved into my flat 4 yrs ago . No windows in kitchen or bathroom . Do have extractor fans
I ordered Dulux kitchen and bathroom paints from B&Q ( one of each).
They sent 2 tubs of kitchen paint 🤦. I used that for both . No complaints .

Dulux Diamond Matt is a good option in our experience.

When we had our house professionally decorated about four years ago the decorator recommended it for all the walls and for the ceilings in the bathrooms. He used Dulux White Matt for the other ceilings.

We are very pleased with the result.
A man walked into a car showroom.
He said to the salesman, “My wife would like to talk to you about the Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
Salesman said, “We haven't got a Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
The man replied, “You have now mate".

^This. I've used Dulux kitchen paint on my bathroom ceiling and never had any issues.

Thanks all. I'll give Dulux Diamond Matt paint a go. If its good enough for the pro's, it'll be good enough for me

Zinsser is the best anti mould paint IMO - used it 6 years ago in a shower room with no window (and a shonky fan, since upgraded) and no mould has returned.

+1, I've used the Zinsser Perma-White, satin on my bathroom doors and woodwork and it's a really good finish, also self-priming so went straight over a slightly sanded, gloss surface with no issues.

Had some issues with cracking ceiling paint in our shower room, with edges starting to lift even tho' an extractor was fitted. Removed all obviously flaking bits, gave it a coat of Everbuild 406 Stabiliser, filled any cracks and gaps, and then gave it 3 coats of... Sandtex super-smooth exterior masonry paint.
If it's good enough for the external elements, it's good enough for a ceiling - and so it is
    Lovely pure white finish too.
