Looking for help with new boiler?

My DW has been disabled for a long time receiving higher rate DLA. We have not tried for any other benefits as we manage quite well on our pensions and the DLA payments.
Our boiler failed last winter and we do not have enough to buy a new one so have tried applying for help but keep being told we do not qualify due to things like the previous owners had wall insulation, solid floor downstairs etc.
Is there any help available for us? We are with British Gas and were waiting for their scheme to re-open on 1st July but it seems they will only help if we are behind with paying our energy bills!
Thanks in advance....

I found this. https://www.boilergrants.info/ but part of the eligibility criteria for benefits is pension credit. There's also additional criteria too which tells you this in that link. There's others i found by doing a simple google search. https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/family/housing-and-energy-grants/One thing i've always found with these "free" boiler schemes is, all may not be what it seems.

Well I spent the morning ringing and applying and a company called ECO3 energy solutions are coming on Monday to install a new boiler, I have to pay £1000 for the cost of converting from normal boiler with hot water tank to a combi but the rest is free.
Jus hope they are an OK company but I will have the manufacturers warranty if it goes wrong.
I will come back and report on the installation when done.0 -
Wow that was quick...

Yes, that is what I thought! But their reviews seem good so will wait and see.0

My gas boiler is a Worcester.
It failed last year and I called Worcester and they repaired it for £285 fixed price.
Engineer said don't worry i will replace so many parts it will be like a new one.
And he was right!0 -
All done! I just posted this on the Official Free Boilers and Insulation guide discussion
We need a new boiler as ours is from 1984 and keeps failing, we do have about £1500 saved for this.
Some companies offering free boilers go through a lot of questions over several days/weeks and then say no! Reasons given are we have solid floors downstairs, we do not want an electric boiler etc.
I was waiting for British Gas new scheme to start on 1st July but when it did start they are only helping people in debt to energy companies.
So on Friday 2nd July I again looked for help, contacted several companies and almost immediately ECO3 Energy Solutions came back and asked for copies of several forms, then next day said they could fit a new boiler on Monday! I almost fell over in shock!
After discussing it with them we decided to pay an extra £1000 for them to fit a Worcester combi boiler and remove the old tanks, pumps, valves etc.
Job done today and very pleased with the installation.
So anyone looking for a replacement boiler under the ECO3 scheme I can recommend them... https://eco3energysolutions.co.uk/
