It seemed to be that everyone had their tonsils removed in the 1950s.
My middle DD suffered really badly with tonsillitis and it was a struggle to get hers removed in the 1980s.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Afternoon everyone just been having a catch up.
The weather has been lovely here the last couple of days but it's quite dull today. I have washing out and more to go out, so I hope it stays dry for a bit longer.
Little one stayed last night - she has been poorly with a chest infection, but was full of life and we had a lovely hour or so playing outside after tea. She slept from just after 7 till 7.30 this morning, when she sang 'The grand old Duke of York' very loudly and shouted 'Granny can you hear me singing?'
We had breakfast and talked to eldest DD in Germany - she is going to Munich for the day today.
I've been down to the post office to post her birthday presents this morning, it's not till the 26th so they have plenty time to get there. Little one went home with her mummy and then was going to daddys later.
Gers I bet it's lovely to be back i your own house, even if it's just for a little while.
Snoozer - little one can have quite spectacular tantrums too over the tiniest thing. I'm a lot better at ignoring them as a granny than I was as a mummy!
Well I'm going to do some ironing, then I have Tesco coming between 2 and 3pm and then I'm going to have some lazy reading time. Nice easy tea as I've ordered some Italian meats and Mozzarella cheese, which I'll have with salad and coleslaw and some nice bread.
Hope everyone has a good day

FLORENCE I must have been an exception to the rule! I suffered endless bouts of tonsillitis in the 50's and was referred to the hospital with a view to having my tonsils removed. The consultant took one look and said "No I'll think we will leave well alone" and I have only suffered one case of tonsillitis since - and I was in my 40's!! I often wonder what he could see that no-one else could!"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"6
