Smart meter - amount of time until installation
If you do not have a smart meter and sign up to a tariff that states you must have one installed, what is the usual wait time? Would I be able to put it off for 3 months so that I could switch to another supplier without having it installed? The supplier terms say it has to be done within 6 months, otherwise you pay an extra 16.48p standing charge per day, but that wouldn't be a problem for a week or two.

I was able to put mine of for well over a year until I moved out. That was with EON, i hadn't even realised that i had switched to a tariff that required these meters.
