Travel to Greece - Indian version of AZ vaccine

1.4K Posts

I am hoping to travel to Greece at the end of the month, I was confident that entry would be allowed without quarantine with the NHS app proof of vaccination. Now it seems there may be a problem as one dose of Astra Zeneca vaccine comes from a batch made in India.
"Sources" suggest Greece are among the ountries that will accept this on the NHS app but I cannot find anything specific on the Gov.uk or Greek gov sites to confirm. I'd rather not go to the expense of yet another test before travel so has anyone seen official advice?

Anyone travelling needs to accept the reality that whatever guidance is out there when they book may not be the same when they travel and they may not be able to go because of it. That's just the way things are right now.
The AZ vaccine shows as vaxzevira on the app passport regardless of where the vaccine was produced but the app does also identify the batch number given. Of course the newspapers have printed which batches were made in the Indian plant.
As somone who has received one of these vaccines I'd like to hope that this is just an inflated press story and will not be a problem in reality. I've been considering a holiday to Mallorca or Madeira at the end of this month but will most likely talk myself out of it as just too many uncertainties at the moment.
