You have to generally type the ip address of the router into the browser of the computer which is connected to your network. You will asked to enter the admin user name and password to access the configuration page.

Hi, don't want to sound unfriendly, but the quickest way would be to phone you ISP support line, but if it is BE then the code in on the bottom of the router - that printed label. if you are an old decrepit XXXX like me, you will need a magnifying glass too.
GOOGLE it before you ask, you'll often save yourself a lot of time. ;)

That would be the silliest thing to do!

  • 9 times out of 10 the password is going to be something obvious & personal to the person who set the router up to begin with, if it was your son who set it up think about his favourite bands or artists, it could even be his girlfriends name (if he's got one).

The admin password for the router is usually "admin" by default & the ISP isn't going to help unless they supplied the router.

  • If you have a BT home hub you can get to it here...

  • The simpliest way is to connect your laptop to your router via an Ethernet cable.

Go to the START menu and choose 'Run...'

In the box type in 'cmd', you will get a black box.

    Then type in 'ipconfig /all'

You then need to look for the 'Default Gateway'. - Write down the numbers (probably 192.168.1.1)

Then open up IE or Firefox and in the address bar (i.e. where you would normally type https://www.google.co.uk) type in your numbers (192.168.....

Your should then get your router login window. The defaults for these are usually written on the bottom of the router.

Then just go to the wireless setup page and read off the password.

Use this on a computer you know has the correct key stored.
