I'm in Indonesia and here pipe is glued together, and measured in inches. Some connections use threaded sockets, which are glued onto the pipe.
A 1 1/2" nominal pipe (inches used here) is 48mm or so in external diameter.
I have a sink with 1.5" waste, and a European dishwasher.
I was looking at getting one of these from England

to drain my sink and dishwasher. Should this work ok?

I'm afraid this won't work. The compression fittings on this item are designed to work with pipes with an outside diameter of between 40 and 43mm. Your 48mm pipe won't fit into it.
It sounds like your 48mm pipe is what we would call a PVC Pressure pipe in the UK. There are no UK waste fittings like you have pictured for PVC Pressure pipe. However, if you measure the internal diameter of your pipe, you might find that it is 43mm. If it is 43mm, you could purchase a short length of solvent-weld pipe from the UK along with the above fitting, and glue this short length into the Indonesian pipe. This would give you a 43mm spigot that you can connect the above fitting to.
The above fitting will be designed for a 40mm (1.5") sink waste, so make sure you have this sort of waste on your sink (it sounds like you do).The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.0

Maybe better off sourcing a fitting from a country still clinging to the imperial system... I'm sure there are plenty of suppliers in the USA that will ship to Indonesia. That said, the stuff will most likely be made in China, so cut out the middlemen and order direct from them.
Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –
