Self-employed van sale

I'm looking for some help regarding selling a van. I bought about a van year ago while employed in the standard way. I've since become self-employed (about a month ago) I'm now in the process of selling that van. The people buying it are a small business and want an invoice. I'm trying to avoid including the sale on my books because I didn't buy the van or use it in a business capacity. I've never claimed milage using it or anything tax or VAT related. It's just a private vehicle. Am I right in thinking the sale does not need to be included on my books? And if so how can I provide them with the invoice they need for their books? Thanks in advance.

If the van has nothing to do with the business then you simply issue an invoice in your personal capacity.

Anyone can write out an invoice, you can do one from yourself but not one from your business numbered invoices, and don’t pay the money into your business account.

You're self-employed as a sole trader, so there's no difference between your business's finances and your personal ones.

But, no, this is not a sale by your business, so it doesn't go onto your business books. It's no different to if you sold your old sofa on gumtree or FB...

Give them an invoice, with your personal name and address on it.
