I am just another poor sucker who was £273 overpaid (Equates to £5.50 per week .)at the end of contract year and yes they put the monthly payment up by £5.00. So I requested a refund of over payment on 18th of May and here we are 2nd July still no REFUND? After all their ducking & diving it begs the question who pays if they go bust ????????????????????????????????

If they go bust your credit balance is protected by industry processes. OFGEM would appoint a new supplier to take on Avro accounts and that supplier would have to honour account balances.
Have you escalated this to a formal complaint with Avro? The sooner you do that the sooner you can complain to the Energy Ombudsman.0 -

I got moved from Iresa to Octopus back in 2018 and even with Octopus's acknowledged superior CS, it took ~ 9 months to agree the final bill !!0 -
I've got a whacking great credit on my Avro account, and the 1 year deal ends shortly. Their new monthly payment quote takes the credit into account in its calculation I think. On a simply 'monthly payment for next year' quote therefore it is likely that a new supplier will be higher, simply by virtue of not including that credit balance in its calculation. When I get my refund I would like to immediately pay it to the new supplier and it to be used to reduce the monthly payment to the new supplier. Is that possible?

It is however £20 per year cheaper than anywhere else I can find but £253 more per year than I am currently paying.
Hope this may help.0 -
I agree with tonycarew. My fixed rate ends in August and the direct debit is increasing from £118 to £155 but after doing a thorough search I have not been able to find a supplier any cheaper that has a decent customer service. I received over £200 credit from them in January 2021. In 2020 when I complained about my high credit they just reduced my direct debit from £140 to £118 but this time I insisted on a refund."Look after your pennies and your pounds will look after themselves"0

I changed from Avro to outfox the market early June. Avro took another payment 17/6. Outfox the market sent the final readings through to Avro 22/6. I am quite a bit in credit but havent received anything back. I contacted outfox the market via email. They said that if the refund isnt paid by yesterday I am entitlted to £30 compensation from Avro. I have emailed Avro a couple of times with no response. I think that my next option would be to phone them and request my credit?
