Smeg fridge freezer packed in after 29 months …

Hi all … was wondering if anyone had had a similar experience which I might learn from.
I purchased a new Smeg fridge freezer from AO in Dec 2019 … 19 months later it is an expensive warm cupboard which apparently would be prohibitively expensive to repair.
ive been told that the item is not in warranty - but you would reasonably expect that a premium product like this would last longer than a couple of years.
is it reasonable to try and claim under the consumer rights act… has anyone tried?

Warranty is not your consumer rights .Put in a claim under your consumer rights against AO.They are entitled to ask for an inspection ,2
