Ex-boyfriend sending items in my name

My ex-boyfriend has told me that he placed an order from Abe books in May this year and he sent it addressed to me at my old address. He says this was a mistake and my details were stored there from a previous occasion when he was buying a book for me. He says there was no opportunity to choose an address and the system automatically defaulted to mine (apparently!).
The order was being sent from Blackwell’s, through Hermes and my ex says he has contacted both but they won’t let him change to a different address or collect it from a depot. The first book was undelivered and apparently returned to sender (although the sender has not received it) and my ex then decided to ask them to send another! 🙄. The same problem has now happened again because the delivery address is the same as the first order.
My question is, could this in any way affect my credit? He has now ordered two books in my name (that I know of!). His credit rating isn’t good but mine is, and I don’t want mine ruined by him ordering stuff linked to me.

No. Book purchases aren't reported to your credit files, only your own credit accounts and your management of them.1

My worry is the seller will soon get suspicious that these books are being kept (rather than genuinely going missing) and will treat this as a debt. Since he has linked this to me, I’m worried I’ll be affected by any debts he creates.Deleted_User said:No. Book purchases aren't reported to your credit files, only your own credit accounts and your management of them.0 -
If a debt is created, they will go after the owner of the debt - which is your ex.

Check all 3 credit agencies and ensure there is no financial tie to the ex. Assuming not, there is nothing to worry about, his orders appear on his file and you cannot have any impact from him1

As a precaution ripplyuk, change the passwords on all your financial accounts. Just in case for any reason he decides to use other accounts belonging to you. It could be a lot worse than him just ordering books in your name.1 -
When you say he has ordered in your name, is he using any of your bank details to pay for the items, or is it just that he has set up your name and address as the delivery address?
If the latter, I wouldn't see it as such an issue. Most accounts allow this but the debt is still with the person who placed the order and paid not the recipient. If the vendor is suspicious about books being kept they may blacklist the address but the issue of payment/repayment is still with the person who made/paid for the order.
And he can change the address should he choose to do so, Abe books have a page telling him how to do this.

All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.1 -

I believe he is just getting things shipped to my address, not using my bank details. Hopefully!elsien said:When you say he has ordered in your name, is he using any of your bank details to pay for the items, or is it just that he has set up your name and address as the delivery address?

I’m worried that if they blacklist the address (and I can understand them doing so) it will have an effect on me because the address is linked to me.
He says he tried to change the delivery address but it was too late. He has lots of excuses, none of which make any sense. There’s no reason that my address would have been his default address anyway. He never lived with me.0
