Accepted an offer - now what?

I received a call from my EA on Wednesday morning with an offer, which I accepted. Hooray! I asked the EA to confirm the offer by email but I’ve not received anything yet (Thursday evening). Also the property is still showing as available on the EA’s website and on Rightmove. Is this normal or is my agent just being slow and inefficient? I don’t want my buyers being upset that the property apparently is still being marketed even though I accepted their offer…

I think the buyer has to submit financial information to get it taken off the market. The EA has to ensure the buyer is not a time waster.1

I put in an offer on Monday and it was accepted on Tuesday evening. It's still showing online because we had to submit documents to our estate agent and instruct a solicitor. We did provide all documents prior to our offer being accepted but only sorted a solicitor today (Thursday) so the house should be listed as sold stc tomorrow. We only sorted a solicitor today as we had a 2nd viewing at lunchtime because I viewed it alone on Monday and my partner wanted to view before we submitted a mortgage application.
Documents included ID, proof of address and proof of funds (eg MIP). Chances are it's your buyer that hasn't given EA everything they need yet rather than EA not updating the listing.0 -
The EA is probably waiting on the buyer to provide their solicitors details so they can send out the memorandum of sale. Wise of them to keep it up for sale until then.

Hi, this is normal. I accepted an offer on my property. There was a 3-4 working day gap between this and the property showing as SSTC on Rightmove and receiving the memorandum of sale. The agent has to check finances etc before they stop marketing the property. I also think legally your agent has to confirm the offer in writing to you.1

When we sold, we had to have solicitors in place and our buyer did too for the instruction before it went sstc1
