Luck needed

Basically we aren’t far into the process…
however our purchase is nearly ready (the two above is in the chain are ready) it’s just our sale slowing down.

Our buyer has mortgage in place & survey has been done… however he never received the paperwork from his solicitor and as he’s a ftb he wasn’t sure what he should have had etc.

The estate agent intervened as for two weeks his solicitor was uncontactable and the paperwork is being collected this afternoon and returned tomorrow.

However luck is needed as those above us in the chain need everything to complete at the end of the month. We really don’t want to lose the house but we feel this will happen. Though our seller would be cutting their nose to spite their face because we’ve gone incredibly quick 😢

it’s getting me down and my anxiety is high. I know lots are in a worse position but please can we have some luck vibes.

(ps our searches only took 4 days so it is doable but I’m just not positive)

  • The paperwork is in hand and they’re delivering by hand tomorrow to their solicitor.

I assume this means that only now searches have been requested? Some Local Authorities (LAs) are taking quite a long time to return searches and then there's the other searches to consider. I would see what the status is with that and contact your LA to see what timescales they are working on.

They’ll be requested once they’ve had the paperwork. We are buying in the same district so they should be fairly quick but I’m so annoyed.

Our solicitor has been fantastic but it’s taken the EA getting involved to get it moving.
