Hi,
Has anyone had to request an official copy of title deeds from RoS? If so how long does it usually take to get a certified copy?

The property does not show up on the online land register. Today was meant to be my date of entry but it was delayed until the 8th, now I have a feeling it will be delayed another week due to my solicitor needing the original deeds

What sort of deeds have been requested? If it's deeds which are with an ongoing application for registration in the Land Register, I'd expect those to be reasonably quick as they should be already scanned and accessible remotely. If it's something still in the older registers, that might need someone to actually go look for it in the physical archives - I know there have been problems with those since everyone was sent to work from home, but don't know what the current timescales are.
There shouldn't be any need for certified copies though, that sounds like a solicitor going over the top - ordinary copies are generally fine.0 -
it’s the title deeds the executors don’t know where they are so their solicitor has requested a copy.I do know that the RoS has the deeds as they have a search sheet with reference numbers beside them but they don’t have them registered on the online register0
