Unable to get a bank account

My son who is 23 has been unable to get any sort of bank account , we have tried numerous banks/building society’s . Still no joy in getting one for him. He had a metro account but it got shut down,.after that he’s unable to get anything? Been to citizens advice and they can’t help either ? Was wondering if there are any other options or ways he can get one he needs one for his wages to go in .

Why was the Metro Bank account shut down, suspect that might hold the answer?

Check the fraud prevention databases by sending subject access requests to the following organisations:
CIFAS
National Hunter
Synectics Solutions

Did he have previous accounts when he was around 18 or so that were closed down for any reason?

As above, check the fraud databases as it is possible your son has been caught up in something shady (has he ever "lent" someone his bank account or allowed money to pass through it?)

He has ever only had one bank account in his life and that with metro when he turnt 18 . They closed it down saying something about a fraud alert he’s never been in trouble in his life . All he wants is a bank account for his wages to go in . Nobody will let him open up one . Been threw all of them .seems no one can help him ?

He needs to help himself first, by checking the fraud databases listed above.

Yeah and he’s tried all that . He’s going round in circles with it all they keep saying they will get back to him . There’s an alert on his name ,And it will never be removed .so that’s why no banks will let him have an account ever .

Also they have asked him for bank statements which he don’t even have coz he don’t even have a bank . Lol.

Which financial institution placed the 'alert' - has your son contacted them to find out why they lodged the marker? And has your son told you why it was put there?

I don’t think your son is giving you the full story about what he’s been up to… clearly he’s been a naughty boy - probably Money Muling.

You need to be a lot clearer in your posts… who are the ‘they’ you keep mentioning?
