Sounds really dodgy, I never trust door to door or cold callers...
be very wary and keep a close eye on your bank transactions... If this is a scam they probably aren't done...
Some thoughts:
Did they ask you to set up a password or memorable info? If so do you use that for other things? Did you give them your email? If you get any emails from "Scottish power" don't trust any links. If you get any phone calls from people saying they are your bank, don't trust them.. remember these guys now have you bank name and your name and number. So easy to pretend to be your bank and ask you for memorable info then they use that to try and access your real bank.0 -
I had someone at my door a few weeks ago about energy. I let them go on about everything, they didn't say which company they were from, if any, he seemed quiet interested after I told him Avro was the company I was with, they had gone under about two weeks earlier, he was going on about electric then asked for an email address and phone number I said I don't have a mobile number and I go to the library and use their PC's when I want to do something he was soon on his way.
I have the home internet and more than one mobile phone but I didn't want to give any of that info out to someone just knocking at the door.
He did ask how I used Avro if I didn't have an email address so I said my daughter set it up for me and brings me a copy of the bill every month when she comes down, I was going to say a disposable email address but thought I better not as my daughter wouldn't get the email to give a meter reading, that I do myself on the day of the billing.Someone please tell me what money is0 -
Don’t be shocked Scottish Power have no record or anything. I have been a customer for years and they can rarely find my account! There customer service is awful and don’t answer the phones. They don’t fix meter issues. There APP does not work…ever and they don’t appear to be set up correctly for smart meters at all because they don’t work and the system doesn’t update at there end. Please please please do not switch to SP…..read the reviews and the Facebook groups. They are beyond awful and can’t wait to move. I would sooner be overcharged than stay with them!0

I wonder if this is a scam......years back some of the big six we fined and most pulled out of door knocking in 2015 16.
Eon SSE and SP where fined millions for mis selling a lot on the door step.0
