Funding an extension

Hi all, we are actively looking at a double story side extension on top of our existing garage. Average quotes we've had so far is between £25-35k. Besides the obvious paying an extension off in savings, what are the other ways to pay for this
Thanks in advance

I imagine a remortgage is one of the common choices.0

A combination is likely the answer.
0% credit cards - even if you can't directly pay for the extension with them - allow you to direct your whole salary towards saving.
An unsecured loan might make more sense than the mortgage fees.
Saving is obviously the best answer as you've gotta pay for it sooner or later.
Make sure you have access to more funds than you ever think you'll need. Stopping work half way because you can't pay for something unforeseen would be a disaster - leaving you out of money and no livable extension.
If that's the cost of the build, what about decorating, bathroom fitting, floor finishes etc? The list goes on and the true cost is always a lot more than the headline number on any quote.0 -
